GoNoodle Fun and Favourites!

OMG.

Seriously, I can’t get over how much I ABSOLUTELY LOVE GoNoodle. It is my favourite routine with my students. Every day in the afternoon at 1:30, right before we start our math class, we do our
daily GoNoodle video. Or two.  Or three. Okay okay. We mostly do 3 videos a day, but when that is the case, I choose the short ones! What can I say, my students love it! 🙂

If you are new to teaching or just haven’t heard much about GoNoodle, this is the place to be. Throughout this post, I will share with you some of my favourite videos and some tips and trick for making the most of your GoNoodle experience! Stay tuned to the end for a GoNoodle Freebie! 😀

Q: What is GoNoodle?
A: GoNoodle is a website with shake break videos for your students to watch, dance, sing and interact with. These videos can be either calming or energizing based on the needs of your students at that particular time.

Q: How much does GoNoodle cost?
A: It is FREE!!!!!!!!
A: There is also a paid version which allows you to access more personalized content and teaching materials!

Q: How do I get started?
A: CLICK HERE to be re-directed to the website!

Once you get to the website, you will need to create an account. If you have ever created an account for anything online ever in your life, you will have no trouble with this.

This is my what my sign in screen looks like, but yours will just have the ‘add class’ button.

Click on it, and set up your new class!

Once you set it up, you will need to choose a character.
MY STUDENTS GO NUTS OVER THIS! When you level up your character to level 5 and max them out, you get to choose a new character!
TIP: I alternate between the boys and the girls choosing the character each time. They have a huddle and decide together which one gets chosen next! They are always so excited.
These characters are so much fun. My students have little conversations with them!
They will even give you tips on how to get started, just in case you aren’t sure.
Once you click on PLAY you will be redirected to a menu of options to choose from.
These are each different categories of shake breaks. This part you will need to explore yourself, because It would take me 10 years to describe all the AWESOME on these pages.
One of my FAVOURITE features of this is the YOU TUBE BUTTON down at the bottom. This fancy little button allows you to add any YouTube video on the internet to your GoNoodle Account. So, if for example, you watch a lot of Bill Nye etc. you can actually link up those videos and have easy access to them AND even earn your students GoNoodle points for it! How fun is that?

Here is a list of my top 5 Fave GoNoodle videos and the channels they are on! You can also use the search feature at the top right of your screen to find them.

1.) Milkshake – Koo Koo Kangaroo

My students literally beg me to play this one daily. I’m not kidding.

2.) Pop See Ko & Pop See Ko 2.0 – Koo Koo Kangaroo

I’m only including both of these because they are both awesome and I have so many favourites to choose from.

3.) Rollercoaster  – Koo Koo Kangaroo

How much fun is it for your students to be pretending to be on a roller coaster? SO MUCH FUN!

4.) Bob Walking up the Stairs – Awesome Sauce

This one is super silly. If you really want to tire your kids out, get them running up the “stairs” on high speed! LOVE LOVE LOVE this one!

5.) Everything on the Indoor Recess Channel

We live in Northern Canada. We get REALLY cold weather up here. These videos are 10-15 minutes long each. They have everything from energizing to calming action in them. They are fantastic!!!
I hope you liked this blog post, and you learned a little bit about GoNoodle.

  • I'm a homeschooling mom and co-op with another parent. I just found out about GoNoodle. 2 of the children are super hyperactive. This is the best thing EVER!
